Mississippi Flyway Birding Festival Field Trip

Landscaping for Wildlife

We will visit three homes where the landscaping attracts birds, butterflies, and wildlife. These homes range in size from a small urban yard to a large suburban acreage. Landscape plans are diverse and include professional landscaping, prairie restorations, and owner-inspired flower beds with bohemian mixtures of native and horticultural plantings. Tour leaders include a landscape architect, ornithologist, and gardener. Yard owners will be on hand to answer questions and report their wildlife sightings. This is a prequel to the evening speakers who will discuss landscaping for wildlife including simple things that make a yard more wildlife friendly.
Transportation will be provided via vans, however some carpooling may be necessary.
