Bird the Mighty Mississippi Flyway!

Join us for the 3rd Annual Mississippi Flyway Birding Festival May 19 - 21, 2006
in the La Crosse/Onalaska area of western Wisconsin.

Join us to celebrate the magic of spring migration along one of the most important migratory flyways in the world. During the 2005 festival, over 130 bird species were counted. Participants came from 8 different states, and ranged from ages 9 to 92. Come experience the best of birding along the Mississippi River, learn how you can help the birds, and make new birding friends. The 2006 Festival Headquarters will be based at the OmniCenter in Onalaska, WI.

SEE ... the fantastic flyway spring migration in progress. Waterfowl, raptors, warblers and more. Click here to see what birds we'll be looking for, or, if you want to take a bird quiz that features the fine bird photography of Dan Jackson, click here.

LEARN ... about habitat preservation for the birds you love and how you can help.

DISCOVER ... the best of birding in southwest Wisconsin and southeast Minnesota.
Experienced local birding guides will take you to explore floodplain forests, upland bluffs, grasslands and wetlands.

CELEBRATE...the new official designation of the Upper Mississippi River by Audubon as an Important Bird Area. Join us for this special ceremony Friday night aboard the Julia Belle Swain!

The 2006 Festival Headquarters will be located at the OmniCenter in Onalaska, WI.

The 2006 festival has a special theme of Landscaping for Birds and Wildlife: We will offer a special local tour of successful backyards, and we are proud to present our Saturday night keynote speakers Lee Zieke and Lindsay Lee from Willow Glen Nursery.

The Mississippi Flyway Birding Festival is proud to support the Jocotoco Birdathon in Ecuador. This event is designed to raise money to save habitat for Ecuador's rarest birds while helping two Important Bird Areas.

Online and mail-in reservations will no longer be accepted.

Registrations will be accepted at the Festival Headquarters all 3 days,
with the headquarters opening at 8 AM.
