The people who participate in the La Crosse CBC each year range from those who sit at home to count the birds around the backyard feeder to the more hardy souls who prefer to spend a cold day hiking the beautiful bluffs and the winding river bottoms.
If you would rather spend a lot of the day in your car, alone or with a group of like-minded folks, that can be arranged as well. The area covered by the CBC is large enough to facilitate many groups of people. A car will get you from one hot spot to another and someone riding shotgun can keep a tally of all the birds seen along the way.
The La Crosse CBC is usually held around the middle of December. If you think you can help us this year, for even part of the day, please feel free to contact us.
The La Crosse Christmas Bird Count for 2008 will be held on Saturday, December 20th! Check out the "2008 CBC" link on the previous page.
